What We Do
our purpose
Belgravia Foundation Aotearoa has been created to reduce barriers to participation in community sport, aquatic, fitness, recreation and health programs for our most disadvantaged and under-represented groups within the community. We want to help New Zealanders to have greater access to those physical activities that we cherish as a country.
Our purpose and passion is to connect ALL to leisure, recreation, fitness, health, aquatics and community sport so everyone can live healthy and happy lives, so no one misses out.
about us
Foundation History
Belgravia Foundation Aotearoa aims to replicate the success of Belgravia Foundation (Australia) which was established in 2017 and now enables participation for over 10,000 people each year by working to overcome a diverse range of barriers to access.
Belgravia Foundation Aotearoa was established in 2022 by the Belgravia Group to reduce barriers to participation in community sport, aquatic, fitness, recreation and health programs for our most disadvantaged and under-represented groups within the community.
Initially our focus will be in the Auckland, Waikato, Masterton and Mackenzie District regions and we plan to increase this reach as we expand our partner and delivery network.
We value partnership, and we will work with the community to help those in need.
Our initial target regions include the Far North, Auckland, Waikato and Masterton where we will work closely with our delivery partners CBEC, Belgravia Leisure, strategic partners, and other delivery partners to identify and address barriers to enable us to support more participation outcomes for those in greatest need. We would love to hear from your group so we can work together to make sure no one misses out on being connected to sports, swimming, recreation and fitness.
100% for the betterment of local communities
Raise Locally, Spend Locally
Belgravia Foundation Aotearoa will work to ‘raise locally, spend locally’. We will co-ordinate local fundraising activities to help fund participation outcomes where cost is a significant barrier.
Importantly, every dollar raised in the local communities we work with will be used in that community. 100%. All of it!
In addition, larger projects funded by donations, corporate partnerships and grants will be scoped to support Belgravia Foundation Aotearoa and its purpose.

Our commitment is to work with strategic partners and local grassroots community partners in a collaborative way, and to apply our resources to where we can collectively achieve greater outcomes. It’s important to us that our efforts are aligned and complement the great work being done by other organisations and community groups that help people to access sport, active recreation and healthy lifestyles.
Belgravia Foundation Aotearoa is privileged to work in partnership with the organisations below.
If your organisation works to support people to access new opportunities, and you have an interest in enabling greater access for them to sport, active recreation and healthy lifestyles, then we’d love to hear from you.
